Plaza Brasserie at PARKROYAL has transformed itself into a new exciting restaurant

Ginger (PARKROYAL on Beach Road)~ Plaza Brasserie at PARKROYAL has transformed itself into a new exciting restaurant – Ginger helmed by Executive Chef Andy Oh (Previously at 10 @ Claymore). Many thanks to Selina and Spencer for inviting and hosting us. We enjoyed the buffet and it was great meeting the fellow bloggers. Ideal for friends and family gathering. Especially if they are local fare lovers.

Ambience
It is quite spacious. We were lucky to be invited for their opening night. So honored! Great for family and friends gathering!

Service
The Chefs are out at their live cooking stations. They even have a live indoor satay station. I always enjoy watching the chefs at work. I feel the food seem more delicious that way. Maybe I know that they were definitely served fresh to me.

Food
Ginger offers a good variety of Chinese, Malay, Indian and Peranakan dishes.

~ CRUSTACEAN HOTPOT ~
A gathering of crabs, lobsters, tiger prawns, mussels. Love this flavourful seafood broth. NOM NOM! This is definitely a MUST-TRY when you are there.

~ CHILLI CRAB ~
Ginger will use the crabs in season. This help to serve the crabs in optimal freshness. Chilli Crab is definitely a local HOT favourite. When people think of Singapore, Chilli Crab is the first dish that many thought of! Always love chilli crab especially with the Fried Man Tou!

~ BAKED SALMON in ROCK SALT ~
Ginger does not offer salmon sashimi. Sashimi lovers don’t be disappointed as they serve a whole big salmon baked in rock salt. Love the flaky moist salmon.

~ PENANG ASSAM LAKSA ~
Penang Assam Laksa lovers. No time to go Penang? You may be able to satisfy your craving here. Their Assam Laksa is refreshing and appetising. Sour and Spicy. Yum Yum!

~ PRAWN NOODLES ~
Love the flavorful prawn noodles broth. It is so fragant. They already removed the shell from the prawns. Great for people like me who are too lazy to peel off the prawn shell. It is a must try as well.

~ COLD SEAFOOD & ASIAN SPREAD ~
Other great dishes include Char Kway Tiao, Cold and Fresh Seafood, Oyster Omelette, Salted Egg Crab, DIY Kway Pie Tee. I will prefer the sea cucumber to be softer. The Alantic Cod Fish Congee is light and comforting. Another hot favourite is the delicious Oyster Omelette.

~ DESSERTS ~
They have a good variety of desserts. Hot Desserts like Tau Suan, Cakes, Fruits, Chendol, Ice Kacang and Ice cream. The rainbow cake looks so cheery. My Top favourite is the Lemongrass and Ginger Ice-Cream. Can’t really taste much ginger but the aromatic Lemongrass is superb. It is so refreshing. I love it so much that I have a second helping. They also have the creamy Gula Melaka Ice Cream. Another favourite among the many. It goes well by itself but it also complements many other dishes like Chendol, Ice Kacang even Ondeh Ondeh!

~Conclusion~
Ginger (PARKROYAL on Beach Road)~ They offer a good variety of Chinese, Malay, Indian and Peranakan dishes including 3 three signature dishes: Crustacean Hotpot, Salt-Baked Whole Seasonal Fish, and Chilli Crab. There were some hits and misses. My favourites are The Crustacean Hotpot (A flavourful seafood broth), Prawn Noodles, Light Atlantic Cod Fish Congee and Aromatic Lemongrass Ice Cream.
