Bangkok. A long awaited post that I been delaying for a long time. How I miss going for a holiday! It was our 2015 Bangkok holiday! It was a 5 days 4 nights trip. We went in January 2015. Just nice to do some Chinese New Year Shopping. It will be Eat…Shop…Sleep…Massage Trip….Can’t wait for this Bangkok Holiday!

~Day 1~

We usually take taxi to hotel from airport. However, our friends always recommend to take Airport Rail link to beat traffic. This round we decided to try to take the Airport Rail Link since our hotel is very near to the Siam BTS. It is pretty convenient for us as we were staying at Novotel Bangkok On Siam Square Hotel which is just about 5 minutes walk from the Siam BTS. Favourite hotel in Bangkok when I visit Thailand. 🙂

Quick Review:Love the location. About 5 minutes walk from the Siam BTS. Clean room with good service staff. Near to shopping areas, cafes, massage places and restaurants! Awesome!

After check in to the hotel, we take a rest at the nearby Starbucks to have our caffeine fix and waiting for our lunch. First day, we planned to just hang around the places near our hotel. I have made the reservation at the Greyhound Cafe at Siam Center.

Quick Review:Convenient location as the cafe is at Siam Center (beside Siam BTS). We ordered Greyhound Famous Fried Chicken Wings, Fresh Lasagne Salad and Complicated Noodles. The noodles is so unique. Feel like our po piah.

After having a satisfying lunch, where should we go next??? We went to get movie tickets at Siam Paragon and shopping at Siam Center. SHOPPING TIME!!~ Winkz

Quick Review:Siam Center is a nicely decorated shopping mall with some popular cafes. Love catching movies and relax the tired legs at Siam Paragon. Their cinema seats are also very big and comfortable. Comfy!

After a great shopping spree and movie, we are hungry and proceed to Nara Thai (Erawan Branch) for dinner. It was highly recommended by my friend. I heard that they also have a branch in Singapore.

~Nara Thai~

Address:Lower Ground Floor, Erawan Bangkok
Price:~650 Baht per pax
Quick Review:Highly recommended by my friend. We ordered my favourite Tom Yum Kung, Fried Sea Bass with Fish Sauce, and Chicken Pandan. The tom yum kung is delicious with big river prawns. They are crowded with customers. They serve a good variety of dishes and the dishes are great as well.

Time for MASSAGE! Not sure whether to go for massage. I did some research on the massage places near our hotel. We decided to give the Chang Foot Massage a try (right opposite our hotel side entrance). The price is cheap and massage service is also great. Purrfect day!~ Time for a good night sleep~ Sweet sweet dreams!

~Day 2~

Feels great after a good sleep. Can’t wait for lunch to come as we are going for our favourite Fried Curry Crab at Somboon. We even skip breakfast to keep our appetite for the seafood. Slurp! We decided to try the new branch as it was nearer to our hotel.

Quick Review:A bit disappointing when we tried the new branch. We still prefer the Bantadthong branch. We ordered Fried Curry Crab, Steamed Garlic Prawns, Stir Fried Morning Glory and Pineapple Rice. The pineapple rice look so different from last time.[View my Bangkok Blog in 2013]

After a disappointing lunch, we proceed to my favourite popular Platinum Fashion Mall. Chinese New Year Shopping~ The thought of it perk me up from the disappointing lunch. Nice to hide in the air conditioned mall and shopped to my fill. Dresses..Blouses..Skirts…Shoes…Jacket…So many with awesome price tag. They usually display 2 price. If you buy more than 1 piece, they will use the cheaper price. Save time to bargain. Always rather use the time to shop around than stand there and bargain.

~Som Tam Nua~

Address:392/14 Siam Square Soi 5, Rama 1 Road, Bangkok
Price:~250 Baht per pax
Quick Review:Som Tam Nua is famous for their Som Tam (Green Papaya Salad) with reasonable price. We ordered Som Tam with Crispy Pork Rind (Fried Pork Skin). Interesting combination. We also ordered Fried Fish, Fried Chicken and Sticky Rice.

After a long day of shopping and eating, we went for our massage again at the Chang Foot Massage. Off again we went off to slumberland.
