Saturday movie night has slowly become one of my favourite family traditions. It’s our time to sit together and catch a movie together. I love that we get to spend this time as a family. I also like choosing some of the popular movies from my time to introduce to the boys. Instead of letting them choose another new cartoon every week, sometimes I’ll say, “Okay, today you’re watching one of the movies Mummy used to watch!”

I’ve even used it in the afternoon with our night curtains closed, and the picture is still enjoyable even when there is some ambient light in the room. Of course, if you want the best possible picture quality and a more cinematic experience, a darker room or total darkness is still ideal.
I also think this is a big plus when we bring the projector out for family parties or gatherings at function rooms. Unlike our bedroom or living room, a function room may not always be completely dark. Being able to still get a clear and enjoyable picture without needing the room to be in total darkness makes the projector much more practical when we’re bringing it outside the home.
Of course, if you want to get the best possible picture quality, a darker room or total darkness is still recommended. The less ambient light there is, the more vibrant and immersive the projection will look. But what I like is that we don’t have to wait for complete blackout conditions just to enjoy it. With our night curtains closed, the picture is still perfectly acceptable even with some light in the room, which gives us much more flexibility.
Google TV And Google Assistant
The LUMOS FLOAT EVO-G also comes with Google TV, which makes it really convenient for entertainment. Everything feels much more straightforward when we can just switch on the projector and start looking for something to watch.
It also comes with Google Assistant, which is a fun little addition. I can actually ask it questions, including something as simple as the weather. So it’s not just a projector that we use for movies; there are also those little smart-home conveniences that make it more useful for everyday life.
Big Sound And A Big Screen, Even In A Smaller Room
Another thing I appreciate about the LUMOS FLOAT EVO-G is that we don’t need a separate sound system just to enjoy movie night. It comes with built-in dual speakers that give us clear and immersive sound, so we can simply switch on the projector and start watching.
