My Rating: (3 out of 5)

Yomenya Goemon has started its first outlet since 1976 in Japan. They have reinvented the way to eat spaghetti by slurping spaghetti with chop sticks. Yomenya Goemon has entered the shores of Singapore. It is hidden right at a corner of Marina Bay Link Mall with a escalator right in front. I bet many of us have passed by it without noticing.
Ambience
The place is done up with a japanese and western touch. It seems like a popular hangout for families. Hence, the place could be quite noisy. The kitchen is also a open concept. Clinking of plates and pots are often heard. Not to worry about the smoke from the kitchen. It seem well concealed to the kitchen.
Service
The service staff are pretty attentive. Our orders were taken down swiftly. When we ordered a dessert to share, they provide both of us the utensils. However, I was a bit disappointed that they have make use of high quality disposable chopsticks. It is still quite uncomfortable to use.
Food
We ordered the following:
  1. Half & Half Set C (Carbonara with Yolk & Bacon, Vongole Bianco Olive Oil, Cheese Cake & Ice Cream)
  2. Roast Duck Pizza
~Carbonara with Yolk & Bacon~ carbonara-with-yolk_bacon_2
It is visually pleasing to my eyes. It is quite different from the usual ones that we had. The sauce was quite thin. It seem more like a soup.
~Vongole Bianco Olive Oil~ vongole-bianco-olive-oil_2
Each strand of the spaghetti was well coated with the fragrance from clams. However, the clams were too few. They have added some chilli and it gives the spaghetti some hints of spiciness. At the same time, it is not overpowering.
~Cheese Cake & Ice Cream~ cheese-cake-with-ice-cream
The ice cream and the cake have went well together. The cheese cake crust seem a bit too thick to my liking.
~Roast Duck Pizza~ roast_duck_pizza_2
The crust is so soft! However, it is also very oily! My fingers were all coated with oil after finishing the pizza.
