December...My favourite month! A festive month and of course not forgetting it is my birthday month! I love December! I heard about wooloomooloo but never tried before. It is at Swissotel The Stamford. I have went Swissotel but never notice Wooloomooloo as it is a ulu corner. My friend has suggested the place for celebrating my birthday as we have all never try it before and I was craving for a good steak. It was raining when I reach raffles city and finally managed to find the restaurant. It was really hidden at a corner. I think there should be better signage to lead people there.
Ambience
It looks like a gem hidden in a corner of the swissotel. The ambience was cozy with a luxury feel. It was raining. Luckily, it wasn't too cold in the restaurant. I think it is great for friends gathering as the place wasn't too quiet. The ambience is romantic for couples too.
Service
The service was pretty good! When we request for to see the size of the Tomahawk steak, they also don't mind to really bring the steak out to show us. In the end, we decided to stop them from bringing it out as we decided not to have such a big steak. The food were also served swiftly. In no time, our table was full of the dishes.
Food
We had the following:
~Caesar Salad with Grilled Chicken Breast (S$25)~ grilled_chicken_breast_salad
The salad is served with Grana Padano shaves, croutons & bacon bits. The vegetables are fresh but i thought the croutons bread were too big for my liking.
~Pan Seared Barramundi Fillet (S$58)~ barramundi_fillet
Pan Seared Barramundi Fillet is Served with lime, over crushed Idaho potato & tomato sauce with olive oil & capers. The fish was fresh but i think it is too pricy. I guess you pay the ambience and service that goes with it too *winkz*
~USDA Striploin, 12-ounce (S$80)~ striploin sauce
The striploin was very juicy and tender. I love it! They also served it with 4 different kind of sauces. Black Pepper sauce was my favourite!
~Wooloomooloo Steak, 12-ounce (S$70)~ wooloomooloo_steak
The rib eye steak marinated with Cajun spice. It is not as good as the USDA Striploin. I won't recommend to order this.
