Tim Ho Wan | I12 Katong~ When I first tried Tim Ho Wan, it was actually at their first outlet (20-seater) at Mong Kok. It earns its 1 Michelin Star in 2010. We queued for hours to try their dim sum. They have brought their delicious and affordable dim sum to our Singapore shores. We are honored to be their first international location in Singapore.

AMBIENCE
We were there very early. There weren't many people around. It was quite spacious. I am so glad that I no longer need to travel all the way to Hong Kong to enjoy these delicious dim sum. Most importantly, I no longer need to wait for hours. They use brown and green nature related colors in their interior. They give a very relaxing and comfortable ambiance.

SERVICE
We just need to indicate the dim sum we want on their order sheet. They serve us swiftly soon after we placed the order. After finishing our meal, we just need to take the order sheet to the cashier to pay the bill.

FOOD

BAKED BUN WITH BBQ PORK (脆皮叉烧包)
What I love about them is the sensation of sinking my teeth into the SOFT while CRISPY on the outside buns and come the savoury pieces of barbecued pork with the sweet sauce rushing into my mouth. Awesome!

PAN FRIED RADISH CAKE (香煎萝卜糕)
Their radish cakes are steamed and pan fried. It is very soft till it easily melt in our mouth. Very Smooth Texture with a bit of charred area. You can enjoy it with soya sauce. A very addictive dim sum!

RICE WITH PORK SPARE RIBS & YAM (香排骨芋头饭)
The pork spare ribs are very tender but the yam is a bit too dry. I would also prefer the meat to be a bit more generous.

PORK DUMPLING WITH SHRIMP (鲜虾烧卖皇)
Pork Dumpling is always one of our MUST HAVE at Dim Sum meals. Their Pork Dumpling is flavourful and the skin is chewy. They are also more appetising with a drop of color from goji berry topping. You can also enjoy it with chilli sauce to have the extra punch!

PRAWN DUMPLING (晶莹鲜虾饺)
Prawn Dumpling is my No. 1 MUST HAVE at Dim Sum Meals. The succulent prawns hugged tightly with the white transculent blanket. So tender, juicy and tasty! I can never have enough of it!

CONGEE WITH PORK, CENTURY EGG AND SALTED EGG (金银蛋瘦肉粥)
The congee is very smooth. Nothing else to shout about. I would prefer the century egg and pork topping to be more generous.

Tim Ho Wan | I12 Katong~ Popular and Affordable 1 Michelin Star Dim Sum restaurant in Hong Kong. They arrive in Singapore and bring along their delicious dim sum. They use brown and green nature related colors in their interior. They give a very relaxing and comfortable ambiance.. We especially enjoy the BAKED BUN WITH BBQ PORK (脆皮叉烧包).
