The place is doll up with Chinese New Year feel in the air. The splashes of auspicious red color filled the many corners of the place. Love the lanterns! What an exquisite beauty! Oh cool and they listed down the strength and weakness of each zodiac animal. Hmm.. Am born in the year of Rooster. Ops. I am gullible and perfectionist haha. Oh dear sound bad haha. Ok I will try to be less perfect. LOL *Winkz*
I feel so honored to meet the man behind the masterful culinary creations. It is no other but Celebrity Masterchef, Ho Tien Tsai! He is very knowledgable and friendly. He brought us through the different types of water to cook dishes. Amazing! Didn't know that the same clear water can be actually can make so much difference to a dish.
Prosperity Swordfish and Salmon Yu Sheng 鱼生 S$48 (Medium), S$68 (Large)~ Yu Sheng also known as the Prosperity Toss! It usually consists of raw fish slices, shredded vegetables of different colors and a variety of sauces and condiments. Yu sheng is considered a symbol of increase of abundance and prosperity. It is one of my favourite dish in all chinese new year dinner. It is fun as you pour in the different ingredient with auspicious greetings. Finally, everyone come together and toss excitedly while they shout the well wishes. Some even try to toss as high as possible. It is also said that for the wishes to come true, you will need to finished the whole dish. This is the first time I try the Swordfish Yu Sheng Version. A refreshing change. It gives a different texture to the yu sheng.A bit more QQ than salmon. For non-sashimi lovers, you can also request to change for crispy fish skin as a replacement.
Double-boiled Superior Shark's Fin in Shark's Cartilage Soup (鲨鱼骨炖中鲍翅)~ Oh My! This is my most favourite dish of all! The soup is so rich and creamy! I understand that it was boiled for at least 8 hours before being served! Wow I am sure there is a lot of collagen inside haha. Good for skin! Not forgetting the sharkfin! A popular delicacy! The sharkfin gave a different texture to the soup. I understand that this is only available during Chinese New Year period. They do have fish maw version as well. Check out the video below! Sauteed Lobster with Foie Gras (鹅肝酱龙虾)~ Wow A stunning lobster dish! Love the delicate sweet flavor and firm succulent texture with light hints of Foie Gras. So Flavourful and the presentation is awesome too. Well-Balance display of colors!
Prosperity Pen Cai/ Poon Choi (盆菜) S$298 (Medium), S$488 (Large), a traditional Chinese Cantonese dish. A big bowl that is filled with many layers of treasures. We had Abalone, Fish Maw, Sea Cucumber, Conpoy, Chicken, Duck Webs, Dace Ball, Mushrooms, Dried Oysters, Black Moss, Roast Pork, Prawns and Tian Jin Cabbage. There is almost sure something that you will like in the dish. What a luxurious dish!
Steamed Glutinous Rice with Preserved Meat in Lotus Leaf (荷叶八宝饭) S$32.80 (Small), S$42.80 (Medium), S$52.80 (Large). I always loved the classic sticky glutinous rice wrapped in lotus leaf. It is like a gem hidden under the leaves. The lotus leaf gave a delicate aroma to the rice. The rice is so flavourful with a unique sticky touch.
Last but not least it is the dessert time! A great dessert will always gave the nice comforting finish touch to a great meal. We have the chilled Snow Pear with Red Wine (红酒雪梨) and Nian Gao (年糕). The refreshing snow pear is juicy with red wine sweetness. Nian Gao can be translated to Chinese New Year Cake as well. An auspicious dish that is said to bring good luck. Hence, it is commonly eaten during Chinese New Year.

Tien Court serves delicious chinese dishes. I love the Double-boiled Superior Shark's Fin in Shark's Cartilage Soup (鲨鱼骨炖中鲍翅)! It was superbly well done! The elegant ambience is traditional but has a contemporary feel to it. It uses the auspicious colours like red and also has a huge collection of different type antiques like paintings. It is great for family gathering! They also offer some of their Lunar New Year delicacies as takeaway which are great for parties in the comforts of your home.
