THE BIRD SOUTHERN TABLE AND BAR ~ 50 Eggs (founded by renowned restaurateur John Kunke) together with Marina Bay Sands has brought U.S. Southern comfort cuisine including their famous 100-year-old recipe - Lewellyn’s Fine Fried Chicken to the shores of Singapore. Wow the recipe is older than many of us! They also have local-inspired dishes like Low Country Laksa. They also have creative and hand-crafted cocktails, including their Blackberry Bourbon Lemonade. So honored that Singapore is actually its FIRST ASIAN venture!

AMBIENCE
A modern-rustic designed 190-seater two-storey restaurant with industrial touches. Inspired by their flagship location, the restaurant uses familiar textures and colors signature. I like the idea that they took the inspiration from our signature Singapore gardens and incorporated the greenery and live plants into their restaurant. Love the bustling open kitchen where you can watch the chefs whipping up the delicious dishes! They also have a 30-seater semi-private dining room. Perfect for intimate events!

SERVICE
We were seated near the bustling open kitchen. It was fun watching Executive Chef Leonard Delgado checking on the dishes before they are served to the customers.
The service staff were also very friendly and attentive despite the evening crowd. Scott, General Manager who was hosting us is very knowledgeable on the dishes. Awesome Service!

FOOD

DEVILED EGGS with dill, chive and smoked trout roe. A very flavorful way of presenting eggs. FRIED GREEN TOMATO BLT - house smoked pork belly, pimento cheese, smoky tomato jak, frisee and lemon vingerarette. I enjoy the different layers of textures. Refreshing yet flavorful first course.

~ CHICKEN 'N' WATERMELON 'N' WAFFLES ~ with honey hot sauce, chilled spiced watermelon, vermont sharp cheddar cheese waffle and bourbon maple syrup. The fried chicken was crispy. The meat was juicy and tender. The chicken pieces were not too oily. It paired well with refreshing sweet spiced watermelon. The waffles is not the type I like. The waffles is more chewy type. Love the smoky sweetness from bourbon maple syrup. Have a bit of each of them to enjoy the different burst of flavors. The savory crispy chicken to the smoky sweet chewy waffles to the refreshing sweet watermelon.

~ MACARONI & CHEESE ~ torchio pasta, five artisanal cheeses, crispy herb crust. Love the creamy cheese and chewy pasta. The 5 artisanal cheese blend so well together.

~ BUTTER LETTUCE & GRILLED MANGO SALAD ~ Char-grilled mango, smoked pecans, tomato, onions, benne seed dressing. Love this combination. The sweetness from the mango. The smokiness from the pecans and the fresh lettuce. It give a refreshing change from the fried chicken and creamy cheese marcaroni.

~ SALTED CARAMEL BREAD PUDDING ~ Warm custard bread pudding, whisky anglaisedragee pecans, chantilly cream, gooey salted caramel. I was never a big fan of bread pudding but I enjoy their version. It is not too sweet as it is they are using salted caramel. It is warm and fluffy. The crunchy whisky anglaise dragee pecans go so well with the bread pudding.

FLOWER POT MISSISSIPPI MUD PIE ~ Chocolate cake, homemade marshmallow, chocolate ice cream, oreo pecan dirt. A beautiful presentation of mud pie. Haha They even place a worm gummy which look so big beside the flower pot. It is so pretty till we don't bear to eat it. A pretty and delicious dessert is always a perfect end to a wonderful dinner.

~ COCKTAILS ~ We tried a couple of cocktails. Their cocktails are pretty strong. Blackberry Bourbon Lemonade is their signature punch is tart and tangy with hints of sweetness. Yardbird Old Fashioned 27 is so interesting as they uses bacon infused Wild Turkey Bourbon, Angostura bitters and maple syrup. Sound like breakfast! Sub - Zero Floral Aviation has a stunning presentation. They sublimate dry ice with Lavender water to create a scented fog gently hugging the lovely cocktail. So instagramable!

Popular for friends gathering and couple dates. Great Service and Delicious Dishes. I especially enjoyed Fried Green Tomato BLT, Chicken ‘n’ Watermelon ‘n’ Waffles, Flower Pot Mississippi Mud Pie and Sub - Zero Floral Aviation Coctail.
