Royal Pavilion~ We were there to catch up with our friends. My friend recommended to have dim sum at Royal Pavilion. I had never been there before. I was surprise that there wasn't many customers when I arrive. I asked my friend about it whether they are a new restaurant that people are not aware of My friend told me that they are actually booked and the good thing was they had only 1 seating. Lovely. I hate to rush my lunch at dim sum restaurant that serve more than 1 seating and you are shooed to quickly leave after lunch. Making it hard to enjoy a lovely dim sum. So it is so wonderful that they only have 1 seating.
Lavishly decorated with private rooms at the side. The other side of the restaurant were full glass windows allowing natural light in. Environment Friendly :) We were seated at a corner not with the best view but it was ok as we get more privacy. royal_pavilion_ambience
The staff are friendly and attentive to our needs. My friends brought their daugther. The staff also try to play with her. It makes us feel so warm and cozy.
BBQ Pork with Honey Sauce (蜜汁叉烧皇) S$15
The char siew was a bit sweet with the honey sauce and there was a just the balance amount of fat and meat. However, I prefer with lesser amount of fat. My friend's daughter love it though.

They offer a good variety of dim sum. Not too many that overwhelm you that you are lost at what to order. Not too little that you can always come again and try something else. The usual favourites are there Har Gow ($5.80), Siew Mai (S$5.00). I like the crispy prawn roll with mango (S$5.00) and the carrot cake with "Lao Gan Die" sauce (S$8.80). The "Lao Gan Die" sauce was quite unique as most restaurants serve it with XO sauce. I like the congee with diced seafood and pumpkin. It taste kind of bland but it make me feel healthy. Pumpkin is a great source of antioxidants and vitamins. Don't forget the Baked Swiss BBQ Snow Bun. They are yummy.
They has great ambience and friendly service staff. They offer only 1 seating during lunch time. You won't need to rush to quickly finish your food or have staff trying to shoo you away. Simply wonderful and slowly enjoy your dim sum lunch. It is ideal for friends or family gathering. It is about 10 minutes walk from Clarke Quay Station. The dim sum are great with good variety. Best to make reservation early. It is a bit pricy. Most dim sum dishes are on average of S$5. I think it is worth it. Do check them out!
