Mooncake is traditionally eaten during the Mid-Autumn Festival (中秋節). This festival is for lunar appreciation and moon watching. Mooncakes are offered between friends or on family gatherings while celebrating the festival. It is also often given as corporate gifts. I enjoyed mooncakes since young. Especially the egg yolk. I remember when i was young, i always get disappointed if i don't get the slice with salted Egg Yolk. I always tell my mum shall we buy the mooncake with 4 Salted egg yolks haha. So crazy. These days I minimise having Egg Yolk. Old already scare of high cholesterol! I still enjoy having the little salted egg yolk to balance the sweetness from the lotus paste.

Bing Liang is a very traditional bakery which was established in 1998. The Ang family of Muar, Johor has been baking a great variety of cultural tarts and cakes. In 2018, they have arrived in Singapore through a collaboration with Masons Home Decor. Masons Home Decor is an online furniture company who is very experienced with seasonal trade and business. Today, Bing Liang operates in Singapore through a website – CNY GOODIES SINGAPORE (cnygoodies.sg), catering to thousands of Singaporeans who are keen to try the unique Bing Liang taste.

They have 7 types of Mooncakes (Durian Mooncake, Green Tea Mooncake, Lotus Mooncake, Low Sugar Mooncakes, Pandan Mooncake, Red Bean Mooncake, White Lotus Mooncake). The Lotus, Pandan, White Lotus mooncakes have salted egg yolk version too. However the Salted Egg Yolk is abit too dry to my liking. I like that the lotus paste is smooth and not overly sweet. Best of all, the white lotus mooncakes also have low sugar options. The mooncakes are also packaged in a sweet pink beautiful mooncake box! So Pretty! Ideal as gifts too!

If you worry of buying it as you do not know how it taste, you can drop by their space at 39A Jln Pemimpin 03-01B on weekdays, 11 am to 3 pm for free tasting! Above information is for reference only. Hop on to CNY GOODIES SINGAPORE (cnygoodies.sg) for more information.
