MY RATING: (3 out of 5)

LABYRINTH (ESPLANADE)~ An Instagram-Worthy restaurant. I have heard of this place being very creative with their dishes but yet to get. I am delighted when my friend suggest to have lunch there. Located at Esplanade where I always feel there is a strong artistic aura in the air. This is like almost a great place to get your imagination and creativity juices flowing. With such creative dishes, this restaurant has definitely opened its doors at the right perfect location. It is also quite accessible via the Esplanade MRT that is on circle line. It is also less than 10 minutes walk from City Hall Mrt (East-West Line).

AMBIENCE
A restaurant with interiors designed in dark shades. It looks quite stylish and cozy with a mysterious feel to it. It makes me feel very relax and chill. A refreshing break from the hectic lifestyle.

SERVICE
The service staff is swift in their ordering and serving the dishes. They also know the menu very well. Chef Han is out to give a mindblowing dining experience. He is very creative in presenting our local well-known dishes in a very out-of-the-world way. Every dish is so instagram worthy!

FOOD
We ordered the 5-courses set lunch S$68. There were some hits and misses.
TINGKAT
RADISH CAKE, ROJAK and NASI LEMAK. It was nicely presented in the tingkat. It was interesting to see nasi lemak in the form of our famous rice cake. There is the coconut aroma from the rice cake. It does remind me of the nasi lemak fragrance. However, I still miss the mouthfuls of nasi lemak rice. The dish is indeed creative. Instagram worthy!

HOKKAIDO SCALLOP
The hokkaido scallop soul is presented in our popular "Bak Chor Mee" body. I always miss our local "Bak Chor Mee" when I am overseas. The scallop was cut into slices and take the shape of our local fish cake. The

JAPANESE SOFT SHELL CRAB
It is Labyrinth's Signature Chilli Crab. I like the delicious crispy chilli crab. What surprise me was the COLD chilli ice cream that come with it. Interesting. First time eating spicy ice cream. It is an unique dish but I guess I still prefer my chilli crab to be hot.

TIGER PRAWN (Add S$10)
We ordered 2 lunch set. Hence, we get to try 2 different options (TIGER PRAWN RISOTTO and INDONESIAN PORK BELLY). The Tiger Prawn risotto is very flavourful and presented very beautifully. The tiger prawn was very fresh.

INDONESIAN PORK BELLY
SIEW YOKE UMAMI RICE. I love the Indonesian Pork Belly! The pork belly just Melt in the mouth. Aww so tender and flavourful. I prefer the pork belly than the Tiger Prawn risotto.

MERINGUE
TEH TARIK. So interesting. It takes the shape of our local popular kaya toast. However, the texture is much different as the meringue melts intou my mouth with teh tarik flavour.

SOFT BOILED EGG
MANGO STICKY RICE. It looks like our popular local breakfast. Half Boiled Egg. However the taste resemble Mango Sticky Rice. So creative. The egg shell is made of sugar. I would prefer it to be made of chocolate. The cream inside. Perhaps if the texture is like pudding will make it look even more like egg white.

PETIT FOUR
We were presented with two little green macaroons to end our lovely meal.

~CONCLUSION~
LABYRINTH (ESPLANADE)~ An Instagram-Worthy restaurant that offers a mind-blowing dining experience especially to the locals. The popular local dishes are all transformed into a totally different form. It is very CREATIVE. A restaurant with interiors designed in dark shades. It looks quite stylish and cozy. We especially enjoy the HOKKAIDO SCALLOP and INDONESIAN PORK BELLY.
