Chui Huay Lim Teochew Cuisine ~ It was my father's birthday celebration. He tried it before with his friends and highly recommended it to us. Chui Huay Lim Teochew Cuisine is by our famous Jumbo Group. The restaurant is at 170 year-old Chui Huay Lim Club on Keng Lee Road. Wow~ 170 years old! I always love Teochew Cuisine as my mum is a teochew and she cook a lot of delicious teochew dishes for us since I am young. ChuiHuayLim_650_1

Ambience
The restaurant is situated at the level 1 of Chui Huay Lim Club. It is a 4,000 square foot restaurant! Wow. But they are still often fully booked. The interior filled with traditional chinese elegance. Remind me of Singapore’s nostalgic history. They also have a banquet hall that can accommodate up to 700 guests. Service
Great service!~ We were shown swiftly to our table. They have online reservation. The timing is 6pm and 8They are very attentive and keep filling up our Chinese tea. The dishes are also served soon after made our order. As the ladies were carrying handbags, they even use a seat cover to cover up our bags to avoid dirtying it. So sweet. of cos do be careful that you don't forget to bring your bag back home.

Teochew Pig Trotter Jelly (S$10)~ Yummy. My favourite Pig Trotter Jelly. Not a common dish found in restaurant.

Teochew Braised Goose (S$26) ~ Unfortunately they do not allow us to order a combination of Teochew Braised Goose and Duck. I think it would be a good option to provide in the menu. Good for smaller group of customers. The Goose meat is tender and I like it together with the silky smooth tofu.

Oyster Omelette (S$18) ~ We had craving for gluey starchy oyster omelette so we order that. It is a bit too much starch for some portion of the omelette. There were quite a lot of oysters.

Braised Conpoy Vegetables Medium (S$44) ~ They have braised the vegetables with dried scallops, mushrooms, mocked meat and carrot. The gravy is very flavourful. It will go superb well with rice. I do think it is a bit pricy for this dish. My family love it!

Teochew Seafood Mee Sua (S$20) ~ Since it is birthday celebration, how can we missed out ordering Mee Sua. Traditionally, Chinese like to eat longevity noodles on birthdays and special occasions. The long long strands of noodles symbolize a long life. Yum Yum. Luckily the mee sua was not too oily and it was very flavourful with the seafood.

Desserts - Yam Paste with Pumpkin (S$4.50) and Tao Suan with Ginko Nut (S$4.50) ~ The yam paste is smooth with a lovely piece of pumpkin laying on it. The Tao Suan has a nice orange peel taste in it. Different from the usual Tao Suan we have. I like both desserts!

Again they serve us the Chinese Kungfu Tea after our meal. Lovely for Cleansing and feels good after a heavy meal.

~Conclusion~
A nice Teochew Chinese Restaurant by Jumbo Seafood Group. Situated at 170 year-old Chui Huay Lim Club on Keng Lee Road. They also take online reservations. So do make your reservation early as they are often fully booked. The dishes are delicious and quite authentic. Although there are a few misses, overall still a great place. We have tried the following:
