Sponsored Review: Rookery (Tanjong Pagar)

ROOKERY Located at Capital Tower near Tanjong Pagar MRT. An Australian-American Casual Dining place. Great for the office warriors in the area. It is also good for corporate team lunch and also chill out after work. My favourites are Miso Salmon, Baby Back Ribs and Baby Calamari.

Shinji by Kanesaka (Carlton Hotel)

SHINJI by Kanesaka (Carlton Hotel)~ Located at Carlton Hotel. The interior is intimate with elegance. The main sushi counter was actually singularly carved from the trunk of a 220-year-old Japanese cypress or hinoki tree. A great option for japanese food lovers and special occasions. We enjoyed all our dishes. The most memorable were the mouth-watering tuna belly sushi, uni sushi and honey dew dessert.

CHEF WAN's KITCHEN ~ Chef Wan, a singaporean-born malaysian celebrity chef. He has launched his first-ever ala carte restaurant - Chef Wan's Kitchen. He is offering authentic heritage asian and international cuisines. Some of these amazing creations were actually passed down from his grandmother to his mother and then to him. Wow these multi-generational recipes must be so well-loved to last through the generations. They passed through MUIS site audit and are awaiting our Halal Certification. Once ready, it is great for our muslim friends. A great option for colleagues, friends and family gathering with our muslim friends.

Invited Tasting: THE BIRD SOUTHERN TABLE AND BAR (Marina Bay Sands)

THE BIRD SOUTHERN TABLE AND BAR ~ 50 Eggs (founded by renowned restaurateur John Kunke) together with Marina Bay Sands has brought U.S. Southern comfort cuisine including their famous 100-year-old recipe - Lewellyn’s Fine Fried Chicken to the shores of Singapore. Wow the recipe is older than many of us! They also have local-inspired dishes like Low Country Laksa. They also have creative and hand-crafted cocktails, including their Blackberry Bourbon Lemonade. So honored that Singapore is actually its FIRST ASIAN venture!

Ginger (PARKROYAL on Beach Road)~ They offer a good variety of Chinese, Malay, Indian and Peranakan dishes including 3 three signature dishes: Crustacean Hotpot, Salt-Baked Whole Seasonal Fish, and Chilli Crab. There were some hits and misses. My favourites are The Crustacean Hotpot (A flavourful seafood broth), Prawn Noodles, Light Atlantic Cod Fish Congee and Aromatic Lemongrass Ice Cream.

Food For Thought (Singapore Botanic Gardens)

Food For Thought (Singapore Botanical Gardens) ~ They offer delicious brunch in our most historical garden park. Ideal for family with kids. There is an outdoor playground for the kids to play. You can also take a walk before or after the meal. I enjoyed both the Full Works and the Banana Walnut Pancake.

Rong Fu Ji Seafood Steam Pot (Bukit Timah – Turf Club)

Rong Fu Ji Seafood Steam Pot (Bukit Timah - Turf Club - The Grandstand) ~ They offer fresh seafood steamed in a pot. Quite a spacious restaurant and not very crowded on weekday night. Great place for people who love steamed seafood. Ideal for friends and family gathering to enjoy the fresh seafood together. They have a huge free carpark. It is about 15 minutes walk from the Sixth Avenue MRT. I especially love the steamed fresh oysters.
