Sponsored Review: PUTIEN 2018

PUTIEN ~ PUTIEN brand traces its roots to its the beautiful city of Putian in China. It has a rich cultural history. Putien (Kitchener Road) has earned its first Michelin Star in 2016! I enjoyed the Bamboo Herbal Prawn, Fried Heng Hwa Bee Hoon and Stir-fried Yam the most.

Shinji by Kanesaka (Carlton Hotel)

SHINJI by Kanesaka (Carlton Hotel)~ Located at Carlton Hotel. The interior is intimate with elegance. The main sushi counter was actually singularly carved from the trunk of a 220-year-old Japanese cypress or hinoki tree. A great option for japanese food lovers and special occasions. We enjoyed all our dishes. The most memorable were the mouth-watering tuna belly sushi, uni sushi and honey dew dessert.

Invited Tasting: Ginger (PARKROYAL on Beach Road)

Ginger (PARKROYAL on Beach Road)~ They offer a good variety of Chinese, Malay, Indian and Peranakan dishes including 3 three signature dishes: Crustacean Hotpot, Salt-Baked Whole Seasonal Fish, and Chilli Crab. There were some hits and misses. My favourites are The Crustacean Hotpot (A flavourful seafood broth), Prawn Noodles, Light Atlantic Cod Fish Congee and Aromatic Lemongrass Ice Cream.

Rong Fu Ji Seafood Steam Pot (Bukit Timah – Turf Club)

Rong Fu Ji Seafood Steam Pot (Bukit Timah - Turf Club - The Grandstand) ~ They offer fresh seafood steamed in a pot. Quite a spacious restaurant and not very crowded on weekday night. Great place for people who love steamed seafood. Ideal for friends and family gathering to enjoy the fresh seafood together. They have a huge free carpark. It is about 15 minutes walk from the Sixth Avenue MRT. I especially love the steamed fresh oysters.

Ginza Tendon Itsuki (Tanjong Pagar)

Ginza Tendon Itsuki at Tanjong Pagar ~ Ramen Keisuke has collaborated with highly acclaimed Ginza Itsuki Sushi restaurant in Tokyo, Japan to have Ginza Tendon Itsuki in Singapore. It is Ramen Keisuke's eighth new concept outlet. Tendon is actually a one-bowl food meal. It is popular among Japanese around the world especially during summer. It was highly recommended by my colleagues and they brought me there for an early birthday celebration. Ginza Tendon Itsuki is always very popular and there is always long queue. A Very Value for Money Delicious Tempura place. Great place to satisfy tempura craving.

Shin Yeh 欣叶 (Liang Court)

Shin Yeh ~ Located at Liang Court. Shin Yeh together with TungLok Group brings taiwanese dishes to shores of Singapore. A modern oriental ambience. Great for family gatherings. The restaurant is located at Liang Court which is very near to the popular Clarke Quay and Boat Quay.

1933 by Toast Box

1933 by Toast Box ~ A new cafe by Toast Box. It brings you back to the 1930s in Singapore. Interesting Cafe Concept. Wonder why the year 1933. It is different from the usual Toast Box where it is self-service. The menu is also different. Of course, they still offer the usual delights - Singapore Kopi and Teh. Located at Capitol Piazza. Lovely revamped Mall. Good thing to know is you get to enjoy free parking during lunch time from 12pm – 2pm daily! A great place to go for lunch.

O Banh Mi (Tiong Bahru Plaza)

O Banh Mi (Tiong Bahru Plaza) ~ Tiong Bahru Plaza is still in the midst of refreshing the mall. Excited to see new stores springing up. The mall seems much more lively than ever. The human traffic seems to increase too. Was looking for a casual dinner place. We chanced upon O Banh Mi. I enjoy Vietnamese food. Great to have Vietnamese food available in Tiong Bahru Plaza
