Happy Chinese New Year to everyone! To save all the hassles, we were looking for a place for Chinese New Year Eve reunion dinner. A lot of places have jack up their prices for this period. Finally after lots of research, we finally decided to have our Chinese New Year Eve family reunion dinner at Cafe Brio. We have patronize Cafe Brio a couple of times for buffet dinner. It never fails to impress especially the fresh seafood. So Let's see how it fare for their Chinese New Year 2014 Buffet Spread. I have to apologise for the quality of the pictures as I forgot to bring my camera that day so I have to make do with my phone camera.
Ambience
The restaurant is filled with decorations to create the Chinese New Year mood. The restaurant was quite crowded as there were many families also there to celebrate their reunion dinners. This gives a nice warm feeling to celebrate Chinese New Year with so many people together. They have also place a lovely plate of orange, gold chocolate coins and red packets at each table. cafe_brio_orange cafe_brio_agaragar cafe_brio_desserts3
Service
The service staff was friendly and efficient. However, some of them had trouble understanding our requests. The staff top up our drinks as soon as we finish. They were also attentive to ensure the warm water served us were not too hot. They were also very efficient in clearing our plates.
Food
Their Buffet spread were filled with a wide variety of food. From Soup, Salad, Sushi, Sashimi, BBQ food, Chocolate Fondue, Ice creams, Cakes and even the auspicious Chinese New Year Nian Gao. cafe_brio_bread cafe_brio_fondue
I love their fresh seafood! The oysters are so fresh and creamy! The cold crab, prawns and clams were also fresh with sweetness! cafe_brio_crab cafe_brio_oysters cafe_brio_prawns
We had also ordered Auspicious Yu Sheng to celebrate the Chinese New Year. Their staff also serve it with well wishes! The Yu Sheng was tasty. If you love to have more Salmon Sashimi, you can get from their sashimi counter and add yourself. *Winkz* cafe_brio_yusheng
Desserts are always one of the key highlights of Buffets! They have scored very well in this area. There is a wide variety. The fruits they used for the fondue were also very fresh. I ate so much of the strawberries! There is also the famous Chinese New Year Nian Gao. There are 2 flavors. The green one taste a bit like Kaya though. It is crispy but I think it will be nicer if it is softer inside. cafe_brio_niangao cafe_brio_yam_paste cafe_brio_desserts cafe_brio_cny_cookies
