Bee Cheng Hiang Grillery~ I have been eating the bakkwa from Bee Cheng Hiang since young. The Bee Cheng Hiang Bakkwa Flagship store at 1359 Serangoon Road has evolved to Bee Cheng Hiang Grillery! Wow. They have elevated to a unprecedented height! They spent more than 3 years to prepare for this evolution! Efforts have paid off beautifully. They indeed transformed the whole experience of eating Bakkwa!


AMBIENCE
The grillery also has a dine-in Bistro area where you can enjoy their delish modern dishes using traditional Bakkwa and Flosses as ingredients! You can even come up close to the BBQ CHEF and watch how they barbecue. Best of all! You can also get a chance to do it yourself! It is also the only store where they use charcoal to grill the bakkwa!


FOOD
BAKKWA LO HEI (featuring Gourmet Fusion) S$18.80 (Dine In) and S$20.80 (Takeaway)
Instead of the usual sliced fish, their unique Bakkwa Lo Hei features an ensemble of ingredients like their signature sweet-savoury taste of Bee Cheng Hiang’s exclusive Gourmet Fusion bakkwa, the crunchiness of freshly julienned vegetables, and the refreshing tang of their all natural house-made yuzu dressing. It will be available throughout the lunar new-year period, until 19 Feb 2019. Bee Cheng Hiang’s hand-woven and manually barbecued Gourmet Fusion bakkwa (a unique blend of premium pork hind and pork belly) contains no added MSG, preservatives, meat-tenderiser and artificial colouring and flavouring.

TRUFFLE BAKKWA TART S$4.50 per piece
Bee Cheng Hiang’s chef consultant Zor Tan has specially designed the marriage of 2 delicious ingredients - Truffle and Bakkwa in the exquisite Truffle Bakkwa Tart. In a slightly sweet tart shell, sits a savoury layer of bakkwa with an aromatic layer of truffle mushroom. The tart is topped with light and thin bakkwa shavings and a trace of house-made mayonnaise. Love how the sweetness from the bakkwa complement the aroma and flavour from the Truffle Mushroom. Truffle Bakkwa Tart is retailing for $4.50 per piece. So delish!



CAPPELLINI CARBONARA S$12
Deliciously creamy angel hair pasta tossed with chilli Gourmet and Krispee Frostee. The portion is not very big. The chilli gourmet gave the creamy pasta hints of spiciness. Never thought frostee can go well with pasta.



SEAFOOD COUSCOUS S$22
Land meets sea in our flavourful seafood couscous given a twist with sauteed Pork Sausage. Garnished with crispy wild rice. I am not a very big fan of couscous but this couscous is very flavourful. The seafood is fresh with flavours of the sea.

GOURMET ENOKI ROLL S$9.50
Signature Gourmet Bakkwa wrapped around crunchy enoki and pan-seared in a savoury glaze. We always use normal bacon to wrap enoki. Never thought the bakkwa can also be used. A deliciously creative idea! The sweetness from the bakka complements the enoki very well.

PATATAS BRAVAS S$9
A classic Spanish Tapas fried potatoes jazzed up with Chilli Gourmet Bakkwa and Krispee Frostee. Drizzled with housemade mayonnaise and reduction of tomato. A great dish for sharing and pair with wine.

MOZZARELLA KATSU S$10
Cheesy mozzarella sandwiched between a juicy slice of Gourmet Fusion breaded with panko then fried. Garnished with housemade mayonnaise and chives. Love this crispy Mozzarella Bakkwa Katsu! The sweetness from the bakkwa complement well with the soft mozzarella. Yum yum!

The grillery also has a dine-in Bistro area where you can enjoy their delish modern dishes using traditional Bakkwa and Flosses as ingredients! You can even come up close to the BBQ CHEF and watch how they barbecue. I enjoyed the Bakkwa Lohei, Mozzarella Katsu, Gourmet Enoki Roll and Cappellini Carbonara the most.
