My Rating: (3 out of 5)

Absinthe always reminds me of the highly alcoholic drink. I actually thought it was a bar when I first heard of it. It is highly recommended by my friends as a great French restaurant. Previously they were located at Bukit Pasoh. It was quite inaccessible and hard to find parking. Luckily, they have now moved to boat quay. It is so much accessible now! I have been to Absinthe a couple of times. This time I have booked it through Singapore Restaurant Week.
Ambience
Absinthe have both outdoor and indoor seating. Indoor seating has a nice cozy comfort feel and enjoy the coolness from the aircon. Outdoor seating gives a great view of boat quay and enjoy the natural breeze.
Service
I was early for my reservation and called to bring forward my reservation. They have gladly accepted my request and seated me in their outdoor seating with a great view of the boat quay. The service staff are attentive and friendly.
Food
As it is a restaurant week event, it is a fix set menu. It costs us $55 per pax.
We ordered the following:
~Ceviche of Hokkaido Scallops, Ponzu Dressing, Pear and Pomegranate~ scallop
The dish is decorated with a good balance of colors! The scallops were fresh!
~Creamy Lobster Bisque~ soup
Doesn't it look like a white heart on a burst of orange background! Romance in the air!~ The lobster bisque is pretty fragrant and the aroma surrounds in the mouth! Yummy!
~Braised Wagyu Beef Cheeks in Red Wine, Creamy Mash and Green Beans~ beef
Beef cheek is always one of my favorites! The wagyu beef cheeks is very tender and the mash is very smooth!
~Grilled Black Cod, Prawn Risotto and Kaffir Lime Leave Emulsion~ codfish
The black cod was fresh. However, it doesn't shout anything great! Risotto was also pretty plain.
~Earl Grey Creme Brulee, Hazelnut Sugar and Yuzu Jelly~ earlgrey
I didn't quite like the dessert. It just taste like Earl Grey Jelly. It also look a bit dull. Not a perfect ending for the set meal.
